Where to start
The Alzheimer Society has volunteer opportunities in the areas of fundraising events, programs and services.
Currently we are looking for volunteers for the following positions:
- Fundraising event committee members (Memory Golf Tournament, Walk for Memories, Buttertart Break, Alzheimer Coffee Break)
- Clerical/Data Entry
- 25th Anniversary Committee
- Baking (for support groups and special events)
If you feel you could help with any of these positions or would like to know about further volunteer opportunities, please give us a call.
Ideal volunteers are dependable adults who can respond without judgement, have great listening and communication skills and can respect confidentiality.
The rewards for volunteering are numerous and include:
- help those affected by dementia and those that care for them
- you are fulfilling a unique and very important role in your community
- during training and through volunteer experiences, you will learn practical skills
- you will meet other caring and interesting people
- help us work towards our mission and vision
Volunteers help us to meet the needs of our community on a larger scale and are an important part of our team. We would like to thank our current and past volunteers that have served your neighbours with dementia.
